Eye on Basketball Podcast: NBA Job Fair and Suns offseason
Zach Harper and Matt Moore discuss the idea of the NBA Job Fair, the Phoenix Suns' offseason report, and to talk about without news.
We're at the end of our podcast version of the NBA offseason team reports but before we get to the final one, we're going to go over Matt Moore's idea of an NBA Job Fair replacing the NBA Draft. If we're going to get rid of the NBA Draft to get rid of tanking, is it possible to have the teams audition for the incoming players? Each "lottery" team would get a certain amount of time to talk to draft prospects to convince them to sign with their organization. Salary slots would be based on which players sign first. The sponsorship possibilities, the trash talking possibilities, and more. This idea has everything!
Then we get into the Phoenix Suns' offseason report in a year in which they've finally moved toward a complete overhaul of the organization. They have a new decision-maker. They have a new coach. They traded for Eric Bledsoe. They released Michael Beasley. What rotation should they have? How good is Eric Bledsoe? Should they trade Goran Dragic and Marcin Gortat? Are they doing what rebuilding teams are supposed to do?
We discuss all of this, plus Kevin Durant, the lack of news, and much more. Well, it's a little more.
