Eye on Basketball Podcast: Talking Nets with Tim Bontemps
Zach Harper and Tim Bontemps discuss the construction of the Brooklyn Nets, Jason Kidd as a coach, and Paul George vs. Roy Hibbert.
I'm joined by Tim Bontemps of the New York Post to discuss the world of the Brooklyn Nets. As we start gearing up for the 2013-14 season, we've got the Nets looking to be one of the teams challenging the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference after their impressive roster overhaul this summer. Is it a bad thing that they're able to spend so much money because of Mikhail Prokhorov's deep pockets? Did they get this team because of savvy moves or was it only due to a big checkbook?
As for the roster itself, how will they handle themselves atop the Eastern Conference in their first contending year since the trips to the Finals behind the point guard play of Jason Kidd? Is this team able to take over the city of New York from a basketball standpoint and a business standpoint? Is Jason Kidd ready to be their head coach? Have they set themselves up to make a big run at a top free agent in 2016?
