Eye on Basketball Podcast: Who are your award winners?
Zach Harper and Matt Moore discuss Phil Jackson to New York, Kobe Bryant being done for the season, and the 3/4 season award winners.
Matt Moore joins me to discuss the awards he, Royce Young, and I gave out for our 3/4 season report. Before we get into that review of our awards, we discuss the news that Kobe Bryant is done for the season with the Los Angeles Lakers. His leg fracture will have cost him the rest of the season that his Achilles' injury from last season initially cost him. Is there any chance he returns to the player we want him to be? Does this season feel incomplete without him? Could we see him anywhere else to finish his career?
For our awards, we all agree on Kevin Durant winning the MVP after the season he's had, especially in Russell Westbrook's absence. But why do we differ on Defensive Player of the Year between Roy Hibbert and Joakim Noah? Does Blake Griffin deserve a real chance at Most Improved Player? How do you determine the Coach of the Year award with so many deserving candidates?
We discuss all of this plus, the rookie of the year award, Phil Jackson going to the Knicks, and preview tonight's games.
