Eye on Basketball Podcast: Wild Wild West
Zach Harper and Matt Moore discuss the Western Conference playoff picture, what Philly should do with Bynum, and preview Monday night's games.
After a great weekend of basketball and golfing on a frozen lake, I'm joined by Matt Moore to talk about how the Western Conference looks. After we discuss Serge Ibaka's "strategic" hit to Blake Griffin, we discuss where the top teams in the Western Conference are and how things could shake out. Are the Los Angeles Clippers in the top tier with the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder? Where do the Denver Nuggets sit and can they find a way to get to the Western Conference Finals? Can a collective do what you need a superstar to do?
We also get into the Philadelphia 76ers' situation with Andrew Bynum and his impending free agency this summer. In the past, the team would have thrown a max contract his way and not thought twice about it. But with his injury concerns and the team seemingly in disarray, will they be conservative? Should they try to deal in a sign-and-trade? Is there a good direction the franchise can head with him and a different coach?
We have discussion of all that, plus Irish roots, John Wall's staredown, and a preview of Monday night's games.
