Eye on Basketball Podcast: You have to buyout to buy in
Zach Harper and Matt Moore discuss the buyout season for the NBA, what's wrong with the Denver Nuggets, and preview tonight's games.
Matt Moore joins me on the podcast today to talk about the NBA's buyout season. With the trade deadline passed and having fizzled out, we now look to the veterans around the league that could be bought out of their contracts and sign with contenders. Glen Davis is the first buyout veteran to be moved to a title hopeful. How much does he help the Los Angeles Clippers? Can Beno Udrih and Metta World Peace find good homes? Would maybe the Phoenix Suns be correct in trying to get Danny Granger? How big is the Jason Collins signing by the Brooklyn Nets?
The Denver Nuggets are in a pretty bad place right now. They're 2-7 in their last nine games with those two wins coming against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Nuggets had been surviving in this transition period all season long until a couple of weeks ago. Now Brian Shaw is destroying his team in the media and management seems to be perfectly patient with the process. Is there anybody this team feels is a necessity to keep? What is the mindset of the Nuggets organization?
We discuss all that, plus some NBA draft related questions, the passing of Harold Ramis, and preview tonight's games.
