GIF: Melo kicks off Super Bowl weekend by tackling LeBron
Melo does his best Legion of Boom impression on LeBron. It's not a great impression.
In the midst of the Heat's 106-91 wins over the Knicks, LeBron James burst out in transition and Carmelo Anthony, faced with the same impossible decision so many defenders have been forced into against James, opted to give the foul.
It didn't look good. It wasn't that bad. But it didn't look good.
It looks like Melo throws him down, but it in reality, James just slips out of his grasp. Honestly. it's pretty impressive that Anthony can even stop him to that degree. There's a reason everyone says it's like a freight train. No flagrant was called on the play, but after the game, James had some attitude about it.
LeBron, on Melo's foul: "That's not the 1st time I've been tackled. It shouldn't be a personal foul. It's not a basketball play." (cont'd)— Chris Herring (@HerringWSJ) February 2, 2014
(cont'd) ... "But at the same time, [Melo] wrapped me up and I don't think he intended for me to hit the ground."— Chris Herring (@HerringWSJ) February 2, 2014
James finished with 30 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals.
