Hawks forward Gustavo Ayon out 4-8 weeks with shoulder injury
Spanish forward out 4-8 weeks with strained rotator cuff suffered in preseason game Monday.
Hawks forward Gustavo Ayon suffered a shoulder injury Monday night vs. the Heat. On Tuesday afternoon, the Hawks announced the young big man had suffered a right rotator cuff strain along with some inflammation in the shoulder. He's expected to miss 4-8 weeks with the injury.
The Hawks have some depth down low with Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Elton Brand, James Johnson, Pero Antic, and a spate of combo forwards. They claimed Ayon off of waivers this summer, but Ayon retains a high level of promise. Hopefully this won't derail his season due to a sluggish start coming back from injury.
