Nobody has been able to stop Kevin Durant lately.
Except his own shoulder.
After tweaking it Wednesday against the Spurs because of an awkward foul, Durant will sit Friday against the Celtics.
"Kevin definitely loves the game," Scott Brooks told reporters. "He's not one that looks forward to missing games. The guy is a gamer. He loves to play.
"It's the best thing for him. Until he's ready to play, he's not going to play, regardless of how he feels or what he wants to do. It's a medical decision."
The move is seen more as precautionary as anything else, but Brooks told reporters in Boston that he's unsure whether or not Durant would be ready Saturday against the 76ers.
"We'll worry about Philly tomorrow," Brooks told reporters.
Durant injured the shoulder in the third quarter, but remained in the game and finished with 36 points on 12-22 shooting, which including two late dagger 3s.
This marks the first game in Thunder history that the team will take the court without either Durant or Russell Westbrook.
Perry Jones III is set to get the start in Durant's place.
Durant, 25, is on one of the most devastating scoring tears in recent memory, putting up at least 30 points in nine consecutive games while averaging 37.0 in the month of January.
