Lakers sign free-agent forward Shawne Williams
Lakers sign veteran forward who last played in New Jersey two years ago.
The Lakers announced Tuesday they have signed free agent Shawne Willliams. Williams is most known for his 2011 season with the Knicks in which he played in 64 games, averaging seven points and four rebounds. He played in 25 games the following season with the then-New-Jersey Nets.
Williams becomes the 13th player on roster for the Lakers, who are short on personnel. Williams' best season came under Mike D'Antoni, which probably had a lot to do with this. ESPN LA reports that rookie Ryan Kelly's recovery is going slower than expected, which also likely played a part.
