LeBron James (groin) out against the Trail Blazers

A marquee matchup in Portland just lost its headline act.

LeBron James will not play in tonight's Trail Blazers-Heat showdown because of a strained groin he suffered Friday against the Kings. 

LeBron played through the groin tweak, logging 44 minutes in an overtime loss. However, after testing it in pregame with this being the second night of a back-to-back, the Heat and LeBron made the wise call to just shut it down. 

This will be the first game this season LeBron has sat. In 29 games he's averaging 25.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists. 

Likely starting in his place will be 

Dwyane Wade, who rested against the Kings on Friday, will return to the starting lineup. So all is not lost for the Heat. And the game is probably still worth watching.
