Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James, recently named the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year for what he did for his home state in 2016, will be wearing a Chicago Cubs uniform to Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls. No, James is not testing the limits of his popularity in Ohio; he is honoring his World Series bet with former Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade.

"I'm not wearing cleats," James told reporters Thursday, via The Undefeated's Kelley D. Evans. "I got a basketball game to play. No glove. Just the uniform. I will be in uniform.

"It's a bet," he continued. "You have to fulfill your bet. Nothing more to it."

The funny part: If you watch the video of James' comments (start at the 7:34 mark here), he looks and sounds genuinely annoyed that he has to A) wear the uniform and B) answer questions about it. James is serious about Cleveland sports -- as he said to Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated, he's a "long way from the kid in the Yankees hat."

But a bet is a bet and James honored his wager with Wade, much to the delight of the Bulls guard:

In other news concerning an NBA superstar losing a bet, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry recently had to wear an Oakland Raiders jersey at a Carolina Panthers game. The horror!
