Ex-New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson is headed to the Los Angeles Clippers to join Doc Rivers' staff, a league source told CBSSports.com's Ken Berger.

Woodson was fired by Knicks president Phil Jackson after the team went 37-45 and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Rivers needed to add to his staff, with Kevin Eastman moving to the Clippers front office, Alvin Gentry heading to the Golden State Warriors and Tyronn Lue to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The league source added that Rivers is also pursuing Lawrence Frank, who coached under him in with the Boston Celtics, as well as Washington Wizards assistant coach Sam Cassell. No agreements have been reached with them yet.
