The Milwaukee Bucks are launching an investigation into a very serious security breach. Someone impersonating team president Peter Feigin over email was able to obtain W-2 forms for the 2015 calendar year. Now the Bucks have reported this to the FBI and IRS, and according to Sharms Charania of The Vertical, they'll also involve the NBA and the NBPA to help investigate the scam.
This request occurred on April 26 and it wasn't discovered that the information had been given to a hacker until May 16. The financial documents include social security numbers, identification information, and compensation details. It has everything you'd want to know if you were going to steal someone's identity. The Bucks issued a statement on the incident and said they're taking it very seriously.

Hopefully the information given out wasn't used in further criminal activities, and the person who dispersed the information wasn't acting in anything other than error and misunderstanding. Feigin, the man being impersonated, was named team president back in 2014 a few months after Senator Herb Kohl sold the franchise to Marc Lasry and Wesley Edens.
The purchase of the organization was for $550 million.
