Nets' Andrei Kirilenko to return tonight against San Antonio
The Nets will get a little help to bring in the New Year as Andrei Kirilenko will return to the lineup.
Kirilenko has appeared in only four games this season for the Nets because of back spasms. But he practiced fully over the weekend and has been cleared to return.
This is what I waiting for — a normal practice where you can play five-on-five with no limitations,” Kirilenko said, via the New York Daily News. “It went well. We’ll see how it feels in the morning.
"That’s the main thing. How you feel next day.”
The Nets, who are 10-20, need all the help they can get. Without Brook Lopez for the rest of the season and a roster that's struggling, adding in Kirilenko and his versatility could be a big boost.
Kirilenko, 32, signed with the Nets last offseason somewhat controversially after opting out of a $10 million deal with the Wolves to sign for the mini mid-level in Brooklyn that pays him $3.1 million.
But Kirilenko hasn't been able to make an impact regardless of his contract and the Nets need something to try and turn this around.
