According to a report by Calvin Watkins of ESPN, the Houston Rockets' guard could need surgery on his left knee:
"Houston Rockets starting shooting guard Patrick Beverley might have surgery on his left knee, according to a source."
Beverley was expected to enter the season as the team's starting shooting guard alongside James Harden. However, he has missed the past four games due to knee irritation and Mike D'Antoni has already gone on record in stating that he doesn't expect Beverley to play in the season opener versus the Los Angeles Lakers.
If Beverley requires surgery, that would obviously mean he would be out for at least several weeks. Either Eric Gordon or K.J. McDaniels would step into the starting shooting guard spot while Beverley recovers.
