Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans out 1-2 weeks with ankle sprain
Pelicans guard tweaks ankle but will be back for the regular season.
Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans tweaked an ankle on Saturday's preseason debut, and now word comes that the athletic wing will miss 1-2 weeks but luckily for New Orleans will be back for the regular season.
Pelicans GM Dell Demps said on tonight's radio broadcast that Tyreke Evans could be out one to two weeks, but should be ready by opener.— John Reid (@JohnReid64) October 8, 2013
It's good he won't miss much time, but the Pelicans did need time to figure out how he fits into the rotations. With Eric Gordon already out nursing more ankle issues, it makes you concerned for how the Pelicans will start the season, especially considering how tricky ankles tend to be in terms of repetitive injuries.
But for the time being, at least the good news is it's nothing serious and Evans can help out once the games start mattering.
