PHOTO: Billboard touts Duncan's loyalty over LeBron's royalty
See, because it's a play on word and also manages to be high and mighty about the Spurs as an organization after LeBron opts out.
A new billboard in San Antonio is making Internet waves, if that's possible, hailing Tim Duncan for his "loyalty" in opting in for another year with the Spurs while LeBron James, who the Spurs defeated in five games in the NBA Finals, opted out of the last year of his deal with the Heat on Tuesday.
Should be noted that Duncan nearly signed with the Magic in 2000, and that by declining his option, he prevented the Spurs from acquiring more cap space, which they could have used to make sure the 1999 title team stayed together.
But hey, when your team wins the title, you can take as many cheap shots as you want I guess. You know, San Antonio, the "classy" fanbase.
