Rashad McCants was a standout prospect at North Carolina, where he won a title in 2005. Following that championship season, McCants declared for the NBA Draft and was taken 14th by the Timberwolves. His NBA career, though, was mediocre to below average. He didn't find success at all and flamed out after a trade to the Kings in the middle of his fourth season.

This happens a lot in the NBA and isn't particularly rare. Sometimes prospects just don't translate well to the NBA, but McCants said there was a different reason. He told the Charlotte Observer his dating life got in the way and that Khloe Kardashian is the real reason he washed out of the league.

"But McCants' biggest regret was his highly-publicized relationship with reality TV star Khloe Kardashian late in his career, which he said gave people an opportunity to doubt his commitment to the NBA.

"Without that situation in play, I'm a $60-70 million player," McCants said. "Easily."

McCants was recently drafted as the first overall pick in Ice Cube's new basketball league BIG3, a professional 3-on-3 basketball league. He obviously still believes he still has what it takes to be an NBA player had it not been for the problems people had with him off the court.

However, while McCants believes that his personality is what drove him out of the league, his playing ability was a much larger factor. He shot 35 percent from the field in the second year of his career. He was a high volume shooter who was average at best as a scorer. His relationship with Kardashian had nothing to do with his basketball ability.
