Report: Bulls reach buyout agreement with Nikola Mirotic
Stretch forward could join Chicago next season.
HoopsHype reports that the Chicago Bulls have reached a buyout agreement with Nikola Mirotic to join Chicago next season.
Source tells HoopsHype Nikola Mirotic's decision to go to Chicago is final. Will pay contract buyout at more than $3 million.— HoopsHype (@hoopshype) July 4, 2014
Of note, that could impact the Bulls' ability to offer Carmelo Anthony a max contract.
Bulls can pay $600k of Mirotic's buyout w'out it going on cap. They can pay the rest if they want but it goes on the cap as a signing bonus.— Mark Deeks (@MarkDeeksNBA) July 4, 2014
The forward has been highly regarded since the Bulls drafted him several seasons ago. The move does seem to give credence to the idea that the Bulls are planning on using the amnesty provision on Carlos Boozer.
