Report: Grizzlies, Pondexter agree to four-year deal
Grizzlies forward agrees to four year deal reportedly to keep stretch three/four in Memphis.
Griz expected to sign Pondexter to a 4-year extension tomorrow before deadline, per source. Ed Davis unlikely because sides are far apart— Ronald Tillery (@CAGrizBeat) October 31, 2013
The details on the deal aren't known yet, and they should be interesting. Pondexter has found a role specifically with Memphis, and they need to retain him as a defender who can actually shoot from the perimeter. He averaged six points and two rebounds last year for Memphis, but found a much bigger role after the Rudy Gay trade and in the playoffs. he finished with 13 points including 2-of-4 shooting from the perimeter in the Grizzlies' Wednesday night season opener loss to San Antonio.
