Report: Jameer Nelson to meet with Mavericks
Dallas reportedly looking at a pair of 2009 All-Stars to fill out their roster.
ESPN sources say Mavs will be hosting free-agent point guard Jameer Nelson in Dallas for a face-to-face visit Thursday— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 23, 2014
Local resident Mo Williams has also had a face-to-face sitdown with Dallas this month as Mavs try to secure one more vet PG for backcourt— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 23, 2014
Here's a look at the numbers for both players last year.
And per 36 minutes:
Both players are similar, in that they can run the offense a little bit and will gun from the outside at times. Nelson is a more gifted passer, Williams a better shooter. Both, fittingly, were All-Stars in 2009 (Nelson was injured and Williams was a replacement, though not for Nelson).
The Mavs need another veteran point guard, with Devin Harris and Raymond Felton as their only veteran options beyond Ricky Ledo. Both players may be past their prime, but they would still be good fits in Dallas.
The sign, however, says Jordan never flopped -- which is incorrect, as the film shows
