Report: Jason Kidd to be fined $50,000 for spill stunt
Nets coach to be tagged with $50k fine for intentionally spilling his drink to create a timeout in loss to the Lakers.
Yahoo Sports reports that the NBA will fine Nets coach Jason Kidd for ordering his point guard Tyshawn Taylor to bump into him, spilling his drink and forcing a timeout to clean the mess up when the Nets were out of timeout Wednesday against the Lakers.
The NBA will fine Nets coach Jason Kidd $50,000 for his stunt with the dropped cup in loss to Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) November 29, 2013
Kidd denied doing it on purpose after the game, but was pretty coy about it. Meanwhile, the Nets lost the game, dropping to 4-11 on the season. So his team is horrible, players are questioning his ability to make adjustments, his desperate attempt to influence the game failed, his team lost and he's out $50,000.
But hey, a bunch of people thought it was really neat that he tried to sneak in an extra timeout. So he's got that going for him.
