Report: NBA fines players for Washington Huskies alumni game
Spencer Hawes, Isaiah Thomas and others have been fined for participation in University of Washington's alumni game.
Yahoo Sports reports:
The NBA fined several players $15,000 each for participating in an unsanctioned University of Washington alumni basketball game, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The NBA fined Philadelphia 76ers forward Spencer Hawes, Memphis Grizzlies guards Quincy Pondexter and Tony Wroten and Sacramento Kings guard Isaiah Thomas for participating in a June 23 game at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, league sources told Y! Sports.
The NBA literally lets tampering slide, as in the case of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade admitting to talking about teaming up with Chris Bosh during the 2008 Olympics, or Chandler Parsons saying he texts Dwight Howard every day.
But have a bunch of role players play in an exhibition game a few days earlier than they're supposed to, and it's time to break out the fine stamp.
It's things like this that make it hard for outsiders to respect the league sometimes.
