Report: Patty Mills agrees to three-year deal to remain with Spurs
The Australian gunner will stay home as Spurs reach three-year, $12 million deal for guard who will miss seven months with a shoulder injury.
The San Antonio Express-News reports that the San Antonio Spurs have reached a three-year deal with free agent Patty Mills just a day after it was announced that Mills would miss seven months with a severe shoulder injury.
Deal for Spurs' Patty Mills, I'm told, is in $12 million range over three years. One of my heroes @Buck_SA first reported the agreement— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 2, 2014
Mills, 25, averaged 10.2 points per game last season for the Spurs, shooting 42 percent from three. He shot 41 percent from three in the playoffs as the Spurs won the NBA Finals over Miami 4-1.
It's a decent deal for Mills, who triples his salary from last season at $1.3 million. But were it not for the shoulder injury, you wonder if he could have gotten better offers on the open market.
