Report: T-wolves chasing shooters J.J. Redick, Mike Dunleavy Jr.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly targeting J.J. Redick and Mike Dunleavy Jr. in free agency.
The Timberwolves ... struggled a little bit in 3-point shooting last season.
Minnesota was last in the league in 3-point percentage last year at 31 percent. So they need shooting in a big, huge way. And free agency gives them a chance to address that need. The Wolves are reportedly meeting Tuesday with J.J. Redick and Mike Dunleavy Jr., according to ESPN 1500 radio in Minneapolis.
Redick is reportedly being shopped by the Bucks in sign-and-trade offers and Dunleavy is one of the stealthily good pickups available in terms of defense and perimeter offense. Either one would do a lot for the Wolves on the wing, especially with Chase Budinger getting a higher than expected volume of interest from teams.
It's a good fit, but the Wolves will have to commit serious money to get Redick, who will likely demand a high price on the market, and have to re-sign Andrei Kirilenko and Nikola Pekovic. So tough choices are ahead, but a shooter would definitely help the Wolves recover from a disastrous season last year. (Also, not having every player injured all the time.)
