Report: Udonis Haslem, Miami Heat agree on 2-year, $5.6M deal
The Miami Heat and reserve forward Udonis Haslem have reportedly agreed on a one year deal that will pay him $2.7 million.
Udonis Haslem tried to be a good teammate by opting out of a bigger deal to give the Miami Heat flexibility in keeping their Big Three while adding someone to the roster. Then LeBron James left for Cleveland and the Heat had to start finding ways to plug the roster and remain competitive. They haven't forgotten the financial sacrifice Haslem made for them and are trying to make it right.
Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel is reporting the Heat and Haslem have agreed on a two-year deal for the team's room exception. It would start at $2.75 million for next season and with the 4.5 percent raise that comes with the deal, it would total out the contract for $5.6 million.

Haslem has been a staple of multiple championship teams in Miami since the team signed him in 2003. He went undrafted in 2002 but has created a nice career for himself. He's been a role player on three championship teams for Miami and is now a defensive role player who has also been known to act as an enforcer. He's in a limited role now, averaging 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in just 14.2 minutes of playing time. He played in 46 games for the Heat in 2013-14.
