Cleveland Cavaliers fans have been relishing their team's championship all summer. And they have every right to since the Cavs ended a 52-year championship drought in the city of Cleveland by overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds and storming back from a 3-1 deficit in the Finals to defeat the Golden State Warriors.

The 3-1 deficit has even turned into a popular internet meme as Cavs fans have been continually mocking the Warriors for giving up such a lead. One die-hard Cavs fan has even gone as far as getting a custom California license plate so he could remind everyone that the Warriors lost in the Finals after having a 3-1 lead. While this is good for a hearty laugh, it seems like Cavs fans aren't the only ones enjoying 3-1 related jokes. Because according to former Warriors assistant coach and current Lakers coach Luke Walton, Cavs forward Richard Jefferson couldn't stop making 3-1 jokes at his expense all summer

"All summer long, I've had to hear from Richard." Walton said on a recent episode of the podcast Open Run, "Anytime we are doing anything competitive and his team is losing, he will be like 'Hey, guys, I've been down way worse than this and won. So don't worry about it.' That's his go-to line all summer."

Walton and Jefferson were college teammates at the University of Arizona and remain friends to this day, so this is just some good 'ole fashioned ribbing between buddies. However, this is just great comedy by Jefferson. It's what Kenny Bania from Seinfeld would've called "gold."

But of course, Jefferson can make those type of jokes because unfortunately for Walton, the Cavs after all, did win the championship in historic fashion. It's just something that Walton will likely hear about from Jefferson until the joke isn't funny anymore. Which for Jefferson and Cavs fans, will likely never happen.
