Danny Green has missed several weeks to start the season with a quad strain, but it looks like the Spurs two-guard may finally be close to getting back on the court. The Spurs announced Sunday that Green has been assigned to the D-League Austin Spurs for rehabilitation play. He'll likely practice there while the Spurs travel before returning to the lineup.

The question will be whether he starts. Green really struggled last year in all phases of the game, and Jonathon Simmons has had several strong games to help push the Spurs to a good start. The Spurs have been starting "Slo-Mo" Kyle Anderson at the spot. Green makes the most sense, but it will still be something to watch, especially after Green's struggles last year.

If Green can return to form, it'll be a big boost. The Spurs need another shooter to add to their compliment. They are currently 23rd in 3-point rate. They need more weapons around Kawhi Leonard, and Green, for his career, is a solid shooter. But first, he'll get to enjoy the sites and sounds of Austin, Texas, arguably the best D-League assignment in the league.
