Tim Duncan passes Kareem for most minutes in NBA Playoffs
Spurs forward now the all-time leader in playoff minutes, passing Lakers legend in three fewer games.
San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on Thursday night for most minutes in playoff history with 8,852 after playing in his 15th minute vs. the Heat in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Kobe Bryant is third with 8,641. Duncan passed Abdul-Jabbar in three fewer games, but trails the all-time leader Derek Fisher in playoff games played 233 to 259.
So Duncan played more minutes in fewer games, which shows his durability and the way the Spurs have relied upon on him during his illustrious career.
