VIDEO: Heat assistant and Juwan Howard try to distract Danny Green
Danny Green is wide open for a 3 in the corner. Except he's kind of not. Because he has to deal with the distraction of the Heat's bench yelling and stomping at him as he shoots.
Late in the first half of Game 2 of the NBA Finals between Miami and the San Antonio Spurs, Green was wide open for a 3 in the corner. Instead of getting a completely clean look, though, he had to deal with the distraction of the Heat's bench yelling and stomping at him as he shot it.
As Green let a 3 fly, Heat assistant David Fizdale and veteran Juwan Howard both tried to distract him by yelling at him. As the ball swished through, Green turned around and stared down Miami's bench.
Bang. Which made Green 4 for 4 from deep in the first half. Not even the bench can stop Danny Green.
This move is nothing new in the league but probably needs to be stopped. Yelling to distract a player is the job of courtside fans, not coaches and players. Especially virtually standing on the court and leaning over to do it. Simple fix: It's a technical foul on the bench.
Green made it anyway, though, and rightfully glared at Miami's bench for a nice little in-your-face moment.
