VIDEO: LeBron James goes off the backboard to himself just because
Miami Heat superstar LeBron James gets caught in the air on a jump pass, so he just throws it off the backboard to himself.
Coaches will scream at players they're coaching to never leave their feet without a plan. Jump-passing is one of the most dangerous ways to pass because if the defense takes away your pass, you're left with either a travel, a bad pass, or a terrible shot at the rim. It eliminates your options as an offensive player.
That is unless you're LeBron James. The Miami Heat superstar took the ball in transition against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, jumped as he looked for a teammate, realized there wasn't a pass to be made, and then tossed the ball off the backboard to himself for the one-handed dunk. That's what you can do when you have as much hang time as you need.
The best part about this play is definitely Heat color commentator Tony Fiorentino wondering why he didn't get an assist or a rebound for the play. I don't think it works like that but I'll have to ask Ricky Davis for confirmation.
