VIDEO: Nuggets' Andre Iguodala buries the Mavericks' playoff hopes
After struggling to take the lead in the fourth quarter, the Denver Nuggets got the go-ahead bucket from Andre Iguodala on a nifty drive.
In the last two minutes of the game between the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks, the Nuggets had six chances to finally take the lead from Dallas and put the pressure on the Mavs to pull out the victory. The first five chances ended in missed shots, a turnover, and some badly missed free throws. But after Corey Brewer rebounded the missed free throw by Kenneth Faried and Denver called timeout, they got the ball to Andre Iguodala.
Iguodala made good on the six attempt to capture the lead from the Mavs by driving to the hoop against Vince Carter and finishing the lefty layup in traffic with 2.8 seconds left. Anthony Morrow then took the inbound pass at the 3-point line and was blocked by Corey Brewer.
The victory by the Nuggets gives them a half game lead over the Memphis Grizzlies for the 3-seed and puts them two games ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers. The loss for the Mavericks all but ends their season and hopes for the playoffs. They're three games behind the Lakers with seven to play.
