VIDEO: Rockets win at the buzzer on goaltended 3-pointer
The Rockets beat the Suns, 101-98, at the buzzer. But in most unusual fashion.
Can't say I've seen this one before. A game-winning 3 that didn't actually go in.
As time expired, Houston's James Harden fired a contested 3 that hit long and bounced straight up. Phoenix's Jermaine O'Neal jumped to clear the rebound but got his hand caught in the net and appeared to go through the basket to grab the rebound.
The ball came down, hit the rim a second time, and O'Neal batted it off. The officials huddled, and awarded a basket to the Rockets. They then reviewed it and came to the same conclusion.
The game-winner gave Harden 33 points on 9-21 shooting, and the Rockets their 44th win of the season. The Suns dropped to 23-55.
