VIDEO: Thunder guard Kevin Martin fined $5,000 for flopping
The NBA fined Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kevin Martin $5,000 for flopping.
The NBA fined Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kevin Martin for his second flopping violation of the season. In this hilarious clip above, Martin appears to have been pushed by a ghost on a jumper while Andre Miller is standing near him.
I've seen the movie The Sixth Man with Marlon Wayans and Kadeem Hardison many times, and I can tell you that this play is exactly how it would play out if in fact Kevin Martin were pushed by a ghost on that play. However, it's going to be hard for him to prove that. The Ghostbusters team today would probably charge Martin more than the $5,000 fine that he will be sanctioned to pay the league.
Martin's first flop warning came after a Nov. 16 game against the Detroit Pistons. He and Minnesota Timberwolves guard J.J. Barea joined Brooklyn Nets forwards Gerald Wallace and Reggie Evans this week as the only players to be fined by the NBA for flopping.
The next flopping violation will result in a $10,000 fine.
