VIDEO: Tim Hardaway Jr. impresses dad with game-winner
New York Knicks rookie guard Tim Hardaway Jr. hit the game-winner against the Boston Celtics in preseason and impressed his dad, who was in attendance.
When your dad was one of the best point guards of his era in the NBA and you end up being drafted to the New York Knicks, there can be a lot of pressure on you, especially as a rookie. Tim Hardaway Jr. may be a lot like his dad though, in which he doesn't get bothered by pressure but actually welcomes those moments. He has a long way to go in his NBA career before he can prove that to be true, but after one preseason game in which he calmly hit the game-winner against the Boston Celtics, Tim Hardaway Jr. seems pretty comfortable.
With his dad in attendance, Hardaway came off a screen on a baseline out of bounds play and curled toward the left corner. He received the inbound pass and rose up immediately for the 18-footer. With less than 10 seconds left and down one, the Knicks rookie let it fly and knocked it down cold for the eventual win over the Celtics. It capped off a 16-point effort off the bench in which he made 6-of-10 from the field and grabbed three rebounds.
