Every major sports figure will be asked at some point about Colin Kaepernick's protest of the national anthem, which has sparked a broader conversation and more protests across the sports world, as well as widespread controversy about the subject.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr, not only as an NBA coach but a sports figure in the Bay Area, was asked about his approach on Wednesday, and Kerr made it clear that he thinks the issues Kaepernick and others are speaking out about are where the weight of the conversation lies.

Stephen Curry said he supports Kaepernick's protest but won't himself kneel during the anthem. Other coaches will be facing these conversations over the next two weeks as training camp starts. The NBA has a rule in place, established years ago after Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf staged a similar series of protests, that requires players to stand during the anthem. On the other hand, the league has been more receptive to the efforts of players in protesting social issues.

This story continues to cycle in the NFL, but with the NBA, it's only beginning.
