Warriors comment on LeBron James' '3-1 lead' Halloween party prop
Clearly annoyed, Golden State chooses to not talk about this much
In addition to not liking the Splash Brothers tombstone cookies at LeBron James' Halloween party, Klay Thompson was not pleased with the "3-1 lead" prop. On Tuesday, ESPN's Chris Haynes asked several members of the Golden State Warriors about it, and Thompson gave the most direct response:
"Last year in their arena, it stilled smelled like champagne. I don't think they like that Steph [Curry] said that," Warriors guard Shaun Livingston told ESPN. "... Guys see it and everybody feels their own way about it, but it just fuels everybody for the next time we play them."
Last January prior to the Warriors' first visit to Quicken Loans Arena since winning the 2015 title there, Cleveland Cavaliers players felt Curry was disrespectful in saying he hoped the visiting locker still smelled like champagne.
Maybe this was James' way of issuing some payback.
Draymond Green just flashed a massive smile when ESPN asked him about James' skeleton prop.
"More power to them," he said. "I already got enough fuel. I don't need more. Enjoy."
Klay Thompson, visibly irritated by the subject, sternly told ESPN, "Man, I don't care about that."
Curry was clearly trying to hold back his tongue before offering up, "I'm just going to keep it quiet." He then proceeded to shake his head and giggled.

Stephen Curry's "I'm just going to keep it quiet" is a bit reminiscent of James saying he would "take the high road" during last year's NBA Finals. It's clear that Curry wants to respond, but he knows that it would be a huge story if he did.
Even though Haynes got the distinct impression that these players were irritated, I sort of wish they would have really told ESPN how they really feel. Everybody in Golden State's locker room, though, is aware of the circus-like nature of this season. The Warriors have spoken openly about needing to tune out the noise and minimize distractions, so they're trying not to create any distractions themselves. This is smart, but it's not that fun for everybody else who loves this rivalry.
