Wizards sign Drew Gooden after Nene injury

The Washington Wizards announced they have signed Drew Gooden Wednesday, days after it was revealed Nene will miss 6-12 weeks with an MCL sprain. Gooden has been out of the NBA since he was amnestied by the Bucks last July.

The move shores up the Wizards' frontcourt rotation with a band-aid over a bullet-hole. (Get it? Bullet-hole, the Wizards used to be called the Bullets? I slay me!) Gooden couldn't crack the rotation last year for Milwaukee. If he can give them a few solid minutes behind Trevor Booker, they might be able to survive until the playoffs.
