Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge: Withdraws from 2016 Summer Olympics
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Aldridge has withdrawn from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.

Aldridge and Stephen Curry are the latest invitees to pull out of the competition, joining the likes of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis and John Wall. Aldridge cited a recent finger/hand injury as the reason he will not participate, so he'll continue to rehab instead of risking an aggravation by playing with Team USA.

Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge: Manages double-double in series finale
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Aldridge tallied 18 points (9-18 FG), 14 rebounds, two assists and a block over 34 minutes in Thursday's 113-99 loss series-ending Game 6 loss to the Thunder.

It was the big man's first game of the series with double-digit rebounds, but his scoring total was also his lowest of the six contests. Aldridge scored between 20 and 41 points in the five other outings, and wrapped up the semifinal round with averages of 26.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.5 steals. He enjoyed a fairly solid first season in a Spurs uniform, particularly after he became acclimated to his role in the offense as the campaign unfolded.

Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge: Shoots 6-for-21 from the floor in Game 5 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 20 points (6-21 FG, 8-9 FT) and collected nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot across 37 minutes in Tuesday's 95-91 loss to the Thunder in Game 5 of the series.

Aldridge has cleared 20 points in every game this series, but he's regressed in the last three contests after going off for 38 and 41 points, respectively, in the first two games. During this most recent three-game stretch, he's shooting just 36.7 percent from the floor, and those struggles have played a large part in the Thunder capturing two wins on the San Antonio Spurs ' home court. The Spurs will need Aldridge's shooting accuracy to return to form in order for his team to extend the series to seven games.

Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge: Remains productive with 24-point outing in Game 3 victory
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

LaMarcus Aldridge tallied 24 points (8-21 FG, 8-10 FT), eight rebounds, a steal and a block over 44 minutes in Friday's 100-96 Game 3 victory over the Thunder.

After shooting 75 percent (33-for-44) through the first two games of the series, Aldridge came back down to earth a bit in Game 3, but still enjoyed a productive outing. His minutes were north of 40 for the second straight contest as well, but with coach Gregg Popovich's practice of carefully monitoring his starters' playing time during the regular season, the 10-year veteran appeared well- equipped to handle the workload. He was strong on the boards once again, and has averaged 10.5 rebounds over the last five postseason games. Despite struggling somewhat from the field Friday, Aldridge is still carrying a 63 percent field-goal percentage through the first three games of the semifinal round.

Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge: Explodes for 41 points in Monday's game 2 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

LaMarcus Aldridge exploded for 41 points (15-21 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 10-10 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocks over 43 minutes in Monday's Game 2 loss to the Thunder.

Aldridge has been an absolute juggernaut in this semifinal round, becoming the first San Antonio Spurs player since George Gervin to score 38-plus points in consecutive playoff games. San Antonio made just one of their first 13 shots and struggled offensively throughout, relying on the 10-year veteran to provide basket after basket. Aldridge is now averaging a ridiculous 39.5 points on 75.0 percent shooting over the first two games of the series.
