Lakers' Metta World Peace: Not ready to retire
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Metta World Peace said Thursday that he'd like to play 2-to-4 more years in the NBA, Mark Medina of the LA Daily news reports.

World Peace made his return to the NBA this season after playing overseas in 2015-16. He appeared in only 35 games, holding down an end-of-the-bench role for a bad Los Angeles Lakers team more focused on sending off Kobe Bryant and developing young forwards like Julius Randle and Larry Nance. World Peace, who will turn 37 two weeks into next season, will likely struggle to find a new home this summer, and it's highly improbable that any team would be willing to offer him more than a one-year deal similar to what he signed with the Lakers last offseason.

Lakers' Metta World Peace: Scores season-high 17 points in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Metta World Peace contributed 17 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block across 19 minutes in Tuesday's 103-81 loss to the Clippers.

World Peace led the Los Angeles Lakers in scoring for the first time of all season, which speaks to the extent to which the team's starting five struggled Tuesday. The top unit combined to go 10-for-51 from the field, which put the Lakers in a big hole by the midway point of the third quarter, allowing the likes of World Peace and Ryan Kelly to see more touches in the second half. Blowout losses haven't been uncommon for the Lakers this season, but the starters rarely struggle to the level they did Tuesday, which likely won't result in coach Byron Scott consistently turning to World Peace for offensive production. The 36-year-old is averaging just 4.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists over 16.7 minutes on the campaign.

Lakers' Metta World Peace: Plays 19 minutes in Tuesday's start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Metta World Peace went for two points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds, and one assist in 19 minutes during the Los Angeles Lakers ' 106-98 loss to the Kings on Tuesday.

Starting in place of the injured Kobe Bryant (shoulder), World Peace was ineffective on Tuesday. He has seen 14 minutes or more in four straight games, but this hasn't helped him produce numbers worthy of fantasy consideration. At this stage of his career, the 36-year-old former Defensive Player of the Year is an afterthought across all formats.

Lakers' Metta World Peace: Says he will start Tuesday at small forward
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

World Peace said he will start at small forward in place of Kobe Bryant (shoulder) in Tuesday's game against the Kings, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Bryant has sat out periodically throughout the season to rest the many ailments he's experienced, and that will be the case again Tuesday, as the Lakers aim to preserve him for the final month of his career. With Anthony Brown (foot) out and likely done for the season, World Peace will have the opportunity to replace Bryant in the starting lineup, in what will be his fourth nod of the season. In his previous three starts, World Peace has averaged 11.7 points in 23.3 minutes, while shooting 65.5 percent from the floor.

Lakers' Metta World Peace: Plays 15 minutes Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Metta World Peace had two points (1-8 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and three rebounds in 15 minutes during the Los Angeles Lakers ' 120-111 loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

World Peace appeared in his first game since Jan. 10, and he has only seen the floor in three contests since Dec. 7 There was a 17-game stretch where World Peace played double digit minutes in 16 of them, but that seems like a distant memory at this point.
