Gibson has standout rookie year: The Chicago Tribune reports Bulls forward Taj Gibson said he exceeded his expectations for his rookie season. Gibson earned a spot on the NBA's All-Rookie first team, joining Kings guard Tyreke Evans, Bucks guard Brandon Jennings, Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Hornets guard Darren Collison. "We didn't put any expectations on him but felt he'd be a very good player for us," GM Gar Forman said. "We're thrilled for Taj and feel he's very deserving." Evans, Jennings and Curry were unanimous selections in voting by NBA coaches, who were instructed to vote for five players regardless of position and couldn't vote for their own players. Gibson received 41 points, with two points for a first-team vote and one for second-team.

Fantasy Analysis

Gibson became a surprise starter at power forward and joined Brad Miller as the only Bulls to play all 82 games. He led rookies with 7.5 rebounds per game and 49.4 percent shooting. His 1.27 blocks per game ranked second, and he averaged 9.0 points. We like Gibson heading into 2010-11 as a sleeper depending on what the Bulls add via free agency. If he returns as starter he could be a potential starting option in all Fantasy leagues. He should be considered with a late-round pick in all formats.
