Lehner was traded to the Sabres, along with David Legwand, on Friday in exchange for the No. 21 pick in the 2015 draft.Lehner started 24 games for the Senators last season, going 9-12 with a 3.02 GAA. He'll leave a crowded situation in Ottawa to likely step in as the No. 1 goalie for the Sabres. His departure means Craig Anderson will be the Senators' unquestioned No. 1 goalie.

Senators Place Lehner On IR

Lehner (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.The transaction will prevent Lehner from returning action for at least Saturday's game against the Panthers, as he won't be eligible for activation until Feb. 24. The Senators haven't provided any indication of a possible return timetable for Lehner, who suffered the injury during a collision with teammate Clarke MacArthur in Monday's loss to the Hurricanes.
