Heat's Luke Babbitt: Efficient from behind arc
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Babbitt posted 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt) to go along with four rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in Friday's 116-108 setback against the Bucks.

Babbitt's playing time and shooting performances have been rather erratic lately, and this was his first multi-point effort since Nov. 30. Don't put too much stock into Friday's efficient showing from the field. For now, he is only worth using in the deepest of fantasy leagues and for help in the 3-pointer category in rotisserie formats.

Heat's Luke Babbitt: Available to play Tuesday vs. Warriors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Babbitt (illness) will be available to play in Tuesday's matchup against the Warriors.

Babbitt, who missed the Heat's previous game due to an illness, will return to action against the Warriors. He had started the previous six games prior to missing the team's last contest, and will presumably return to that role. However, he only averaged 17.0 minutes per game during those starts.

Heat's Luke Babbitt: Back at practice Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Babbitt (illness) returned to practice Tuesday.

Babbitt missed Sunday's game against the Clippers due to illness, but his return to practice implies that he'll be able to return to game action Tuesday against Golden State. Assuming that's the case, Babbitt could return to the starting lineup, although his minutes have been capped in the low-20s for most of the year.

Heat's Luke Babbitt: Out Sunday with illness
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Babbitt is dealing with a case of the flu and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Clippers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Babbitt has been running as the Heat's starting power forward of late, but isn't a major piece of the rotation, having played above 20 minutes in only two of the team's last six contests. That being said, his absence isn't ideal for a team that will be down four other players Sunday. Look for Derrick Williams to enter the starting lineup in Babbitt's stead, though James Johnson will probably assume the bulk of the minutes at power forward.

Heat's Luke Babbitt: Scores seven points in 23 minutes Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Babbitt recorded seven points (3-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and five rebounds across 23 minutes in a 99-90 loss to the Suns on Tuesday.

Babbitt has taken over as the Heat's starting power forward the last four games, but even with only eight active players Tuesday, coach Erik Spoelstra was reluctant to bump up the 27-year-old's playing time much. He's now averaging just 6.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game over the four starts and can probably be avoided in the majority of leagues while he continues to share time with James Johnson and Derrick Williams at the position.
