Nogueira will not return to Tuesday's matchup against the Nets after suffering an eye injury, Mike Ganter of the Toronto Sun reports.
Nogueira was poked in the in the first quarter of the contest, and subsequently headed to the locker room. He has now been ruled out for the remainder of the game, as his vision continues to be blurry. His status for Wednesday's game against the 76ers is uncertain at this point in time. He was starting for the injured Patrick Paterson, so if both are forced to miss more time Pascal Siakam figures to get some run in the rotation as well as Jakob Poeltl.
Nogueira notched 10 points (5-5 FG, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, four blocks, and two assists across 30 minutes during Friday's 132-113 victory over the Nets.
Starting in place of Patrick Patterson (knee), Nogueira was given 30 minutes of playing time in Friday's blowout victory. The 24-year-old seven-footer has shown flashes of potential throughout the season. He's notched five double-digit scoring outings, one double digit rebounding effort, seven games with two or more steals, and seven games with three or more blocks. He's averaging 20.2 minutes on the season, and is a deep fantasy option if your team is in serious need of blocks.
Nogueira will draw the start at power forward for Friday's matchup against the Nets.
Patrick Patterson will be sidelined for the contest, so Nogueira will get the starting nod as a result. The 24-year-old big man has averaged 6.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks across 34 minutes in his two other starts this season. He figures to see a workload similar to that as opposed to the 20.2 minutes per game he is averaging off the bench. However, he will presumably return to a reserve role when Patterson is able to return.
Nogueira will move to the bench for Sunday's tilt with the Rockets.
Nogueira picked up back-to-back starts over the last two games, but with a matchup against the Rockets' Ryan Anderson on tap, the Raptors will go with a smaller lineup, which includes Norman Powell and DeMarre Carroll at small forward and power forward, respectively. After logging 42 minutes Saturday, Nogueira should see a significant drop in minutes, although there's still a chance he reclaims a starting role come Tuesday's tilt with the Celtics.
Nogueira will start at power forward Saturday against the Bulls, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports.
Nogueira moved into the starting lineup for Toronto's last game Thursday, and he will remain in that spot for at least one more game. Nogueira posted just four points and six rebounds in Thursday's contest, but he did block two shots and received his second most minutes (26) in any game since Nov. 12.
