Peterson to fight for minutes: Hornets coach Byron Scott intends to give 2007 first-round draft choice Julian Wright a chance to start at small forward this season, while Morris Peterson and rookie Marcus Thornton, a star on LSU's 2009 Southeastern Conference championship team, will compete for playing time at shooting guard. "Peja [Stojakovic] and I have already talked about him coming off the bench," Scott said after the Hornets' first practice of training camp. "It's a position he's accepted. His main thing is he wants to win and do whatever he can to make this team better. So right now, Julian is the starting (small forward), and like I told him, it's his position to lose."

Wright averaged 7.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 17 games as a starting forward last season, mostly filling in for Stojakovic due to injuries. He has some upside as a young player who can rebound, but is more of a late-round sleeper pick in Fantasy. Peterson and Thornton are not expected to have much Fantasy appeal this season.
