Skinner becomes unrestricted FA: The Los Angeles Clippers announced Tuesday that guard Ricky Davis has exercised his contract option for the 2009-10 season and forward Brian Skinner has decided not to exercise his option for the upcoming season, which makes him an unrestricted free agent. The Clippers also decided not to exercise their team option on guard Alex Acker.

This is a good move for Skinner, who would have been buried in the depth chart with the Clippers selecting Blake Griffin No. 1 overall. Griffin could wind up playing a significant role of someones bench, but will be worth no more than a late-round pick in the deepest of leagues -- if that. Expect him to be waiver wire fodder for the most part.
