Brandon Bass would welcome return to Celtics
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Celtics forward Brandon Bass is set to become a free agent this summer, but he said after Sunday's season-ending loss to the Cavaliers that he would welcome a return to Boston, Basketball Insiders reports.

"I don’t know what the future holds," Bass said. "That’s up to (President of Basketball Operations) Danny (Ainge). But Boston’s been great to me over the last couple years, so it’ll be great for me to come back."

Bass averaged 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds while playing 82 games for a second straight season.

"I thought I had a pretty good season. Based on how I started, I didn’t finish it anywhere near where I wanted to as far as the playoffs,” Bass said. "But it gives me great motivation to go back to the gym and improve my skills mentally and physically."

Bass averaged just five points and two rebounds as the Celtics were swept by the Cavaliers.

"It was a mental thing this playoff series," Bass said. "I just didn’t play well. I don’t have really any excuses. I prepared well, I just wasn’t able to perform in the playoffs like I wanted to."

Brandon Bass leads Celtics with 15
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Brandon Bass led the Celtics with 15 points, but it was one of the few bright spots in a 110-79 blowout loss to the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Bass shot seven-of-15 from the field and hit the only 3-pointer he attempted. He added five rebounds, all on the offensive boards.

Bass packed all of his production into three quarters. With the Cavaliers leading by 42 after the third quarter, both teams rested all their starters for the entire fourth quarter.

The Celtics next host the Jazz on Wednesday.
