Mavericks' Andrew Bogut: Expects increase in playing time
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Monday that Bogut is expected to see more than 20 minutes per game during the upcoming season, Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Bogut averaged 20.7 minutes per game with the Warriors last season, but with no Draymond Green and Festus Ezeli around to provide different lineup looks for the Mavericks, the veteran center should see an expanded role. While the uptick in minutes is positive for Bogut's overall value, the 31-year-old will be primarily relied upon for his contributions on the defensive end, which doesn't always translate to high-end fantasy production. Additionally, Bogut will also need to prove he can stay healthy after dealing with a plethora of injuries throughout his career, as he hasn't played in over 70 games in eight straight seasons. Still, look for Bogut to open the season as the Mavericks' starting center and make a run at improving his numbers across the board during his 12th NBA season.

Mavericks' Andrew Bogut: Plays in exhibition for Australia
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut (knee) played nine minutes during Australia's 82-53 exhibition win over China on Sunday. He finished with three rebounds and an assist.

Bogut had been sidelined for the last six weeks with a sprained left knee suffered in the NBA Finals, and while the big man probably would have been better served resting up until the Mavericks open up training camp in the fall, he was determined to suit up for the Australian national team in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Assuming Bogut makes it through the Olympics without any further injury setbacks, he'll open the upcoming NBA season as the Mavs' starting center.

Mavericks' Andrew Bogut: Added to Australian Olympic roster
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Bogut (knee) was added last week to Australia's 12-man roster for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but it's still uncertain whether he'll be able to play, the Associated Press reports.

Australia coach Andrej Lemanis said that he'd wait until the day before the Olympics begin before determining if Bogut feels fit enough to suit up for the Boomers, who kick off their schedule Aug. 6. The center, who sustained bone bruising around his left knee while playing with the Warriors in the NBA Finals back in June, was traded to the Mavericks this offseason and is expected to step into a starting role with his new team. In preparation for both the Olympics and upcoming season, he's started training with the Australian team and seems optimistic about his prospects of playing in Rio.

Mavericks' Andrew Bogut: Traded to Mavericks for second-round pick
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut was traded from the Warriors to the Mavericks in exchange for a future second-round pick, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.

With the Warriors landing Kevin Durant on a two-year deal earlier Monday, they needed to clear some cap space, eventually causing them to rescind Harrison Barnes qualifying offer and now sending Bogut to the Mavericks. Bogut, who often struggles to stay healthy, saw action in 70 games for the Warriors this past season, posting averages of 5.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 blocks over 21 minutes per outing. He should have the opportunity to see an expanded role with the Mavericks, however, he'll still need to stay healthy.

Warriors' Andrew Bogut: Out 6-to-8 Weeks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut (knee) will miss 6-to-8 weeks with multiple bone bruises in his left knee, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

While Bogut traveled with the team to Cleveland for Game 6, there was never much of a chance that he'd play after suffering what looked to be a fairly gruesome injury during Game 5. It's certainly encouraging that he's avoided any ligament damage and won't require surgery, but the big man still faces a lengthy recovery timetable that will sideline him for much of the offseason. Still, Bogut is expected to be back at full strength for the start of the 2016-17 campaign, the final year of his current contract.
