C Erick Dampier remains with the Mavs, but he must wonder for how much longer. Unless Orlando surprises the Mavs by matching their offer for Marcin Gortat, the Mavs will have Gortat, Dampier and Ryan Hollins at the center position. Dampier has two years remaining on his contract, but his final season is not fully guaranteed. It's been no secret that the Mavs are dangling his virtual expiring contract. However, he's due more than $10 million this season, possibly making him a tough sell. Dampier averaged 23.0 minutes last season, the fewest in his career going back to his rookie season in 1996-97 with Indiana. He averaged 5.7 points and 7.1 rebounds, his lowest rebounding total since 2002-03 with Golden State. 79//2009
