'Sheed officially signs with Boston: The Boston Celtics have signed veteran forward Rasheed Wallace, one of this year's most coveted free agents. Boston announced the move Wednesday, the first day teams were allowed to sign free agents.

Fantasy Analysis

The 35-year-old Wallace, a four-time All-Star, can play the low post and has exceptional shooting range. He averaged 12 points per game for the Pistons last year. In Boston, it is very likely he will serve as a bench player behind both Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins. However, his minutes should remain significant enough where he can average double figures in scoring with decent rebounding totals. His eligibility at the thin center position will allow him to remain a valuable starter in larger leagues that require starting two centers.

F Rasheed Wallace signed a contract to join the Pistons. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. "We are ecstatic to be able to add a player the caliber of Rasheed Wallace to our team," Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said. "It is not every day that you can add a four-time All-Star and a player with championship experience." 78//2009

Wallace says he is a Boston Celtic because he feels the team gives him the best chance to win another championship. The four-time All-Star, who became a free agent after last season with the Detroit Pistons, took a reported three-year contract with the Celtics. Wallace, who won a title with Detroit in 2004, said Thursday that he felt the Celtics were a good fit for him. Boston won the NBA title in 2008.
